LOCAL BIRTHWORKERS OF COLORS
HONORING OUR BIRTHWORKERS OF COLOR EXHIBIT
This year we put together a photo exhibit highlighting and honoring birthworkers of color who serve the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Photos were taken by artist Perla Farias. Each birthworker was interviewed to learn more about their lineage and their work. Their stories were shared in written form next to their portraits hanging at the Sagrado Gallery in South Phoenix. Audio bites of their conversations were shared in the virtual exhibit hosted on zoom.

Our comadrita Ivette Fullerton facilitated the presentation and then our photographer and comadre, Perla Farias, guided the virtual exhibit. There were a few technical difficulties in the beginning but once those were sorted out, the presentation was a wonderful experience for everyone. The link to the recording is below.
